As we know, bachelorette parties and bridal showers can be very different in tone and setting. Therefor you must treat them differently. Before you decide what the theme should be and what games/questions/prizes to choose, figure out what the tone of the party is.
If you are throwing a bachelorette party for very close friends of the bride, then you can allow yourself to get personal or even a little dirty. ask the guests to tell embarrassingĀ stories about the bride-to-be. You can make a trivia game that everyone needs to answer with questions only her close friends will know. Prizes are also nice to have and they can even include vulgar things like eatable underwear or fish-net stockings. Go crazy, these are her close friends and everyone can have a good time without feeling ashamed.
However, if you are hosting a family oriented bridal shower, be careful. Make sure nothing you say, ask or do would embarrass you, if your mother and/or future mother in law were in the room. Put yourself in your friends shoes and make sure you don’t put her in a situation she will feel uncomfortable with. Prizes can be more traditional like bath salts or scented candles. Try and aim for casual yet fun accessories that can be coordinated with the overall theme of the party.
Whatever the situation, don’t forget that this is a party for the bride-to-be. Weddings are very stressful as it is and the last thing she needs to worry about is the bridal shower/bachelorette party. This should be a fun relaxing and stress-free event that can be enjoyed and remembered by all guests present.
